The Bureau of Customs (BoC) Port of Clark on Friday disclosed that its operatives intercepted a shipment of suspected shabu with a total weight of 1,502.9269 grams and an estimated street value of P10.219 million.
Initial reports said that the illegal drugs were hidden inside four aluminum tubes within a parcel shipped from the United States and declared as a “Black Vinyl Window” made of PVC.
According to the BoC-Clark, the shipment was marked for physical inspection on 19 January 2025, based on preliminary profiling of advance copies of the documents. An X-ray scan by the X-ray Inspection Project the following day revealed suspicious images.
A physical examination uncovered a black vinyl window with tempered glass, inside of which were four aluminum tubes, each concealing the suspected shabu.
The PDEA Regional Office III, the PNP Aviation Security Unit General Aviation, the PNP Drug Enforcement Group III, NBI Pampanga and Barangay Officials of Dau participated in the joint physical examination, in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s call for a coordinated government response to drug smuggling.
BoC-Clark district collector Jairus Reyes commended the successful operation.
“This successful operation shows our dedication to safeguarding our borders through increased vigilance and close cooperation with our partner agencies,” Reyes said.
