More than 15.39 kilograms of illegal drugs worth P101.6 million were seized in the Mimaropa Region in 2024, the Police Regional Office-(PRO) 4B reported Friday.
In a statement Friday, PRO4B chief PBGen. Roger Quesada said last year’s illegal drug haul was higher than the 3.04 kg. of illegal drugs worth P8.57 million seized in 339 operations in the region in 2023.
The amount of contraband seized in 402 operations also resulted in the arrest of 475 suspects in 2024.
In early 2025, Quesada said the authorities conducted 31 anti-drug operations that led to the arrest of 35 suspects and the seizure of nearly P1 million worth of shabu.
He said law enforcement in Mimaropa is committed to further intensifying anti-drug campaigns within communities.
“We are continuously refining our enforcement strategies, increasing community engagement and utilizing advanced technology to strengthen our anti-drug operations,” Quesada said.
Region 4B is composed of the provinces of Oriental and Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan.
