Thousands of Manila residents found employment after the city government, led by Mayor Honey Lacuna, held three simultaneous job fairs Friday.

Lacuna congratulated the newly hired residents, thanking the participating businesses and the Public Employment Service Office, headed by Fernan Bermejo, for their support.

The three job fairs, according to Lacuna, aimed to address unemployment in the nation’s capital.

“This was the fruit of a caring lady mayor of the nation’s capital where its thousands jobless residents got work,” Lacuna said.

She expressed gratitude to the establishments that offered job opportunities, as well as the Department of Labor and Employment-National Capital Region and the DoLE-NCR Manila Field Office for their collaboration.

The job fairs were held at three locations across the city — the “Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas Job Fair” at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum on P. Ocampo St., Malate; the “Kalinga sa Maynila PESO Job Fair” from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the corner of Escoda and A. Linao Streets in Paco; and the “Mega Job Fair” at the Arroceros Forest Park in Lawton, Ermita, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
