The Department of Health (DoH) reported Thursday that influenza-like illnesses (ILIs) were 54 percent lower this January compared to the same period last year.
As of 18 January, there were a total of 5,789 cases logged, compared to 12,620 cases recorded for the same period last year.
The DoH also logged one death, compared to 26 for the same period in 2024, or 96 percent lower.
According to the Health department, the top six causative agents from 1 to 18 January were Influenza A (or common flu), Influenza B, rhinovirus (common cold), enterovirus, respiratory syncytial virus and adenovirus.
