Lewis Hamilton, one of the most celebrated drivers in F1 history, officially started his journey as a Ferrari driver, and his excitement was palpable.
“Some days you know you’ll remember forever, and today, my first as a Ferrari driver, is one of those days,” Hamilton shared on Instagram, marking the beginning of an era. After a career that has already seen him claim seven world championships, Hamilton is now racing for the legendary Italian team, fulfilling a dream that’s been with him for years.
His first day at Ferrari's Maranello headquarters was filled with anticipation as he suited up for his photoshoot in front of Enzo Ferrari’s office. A stylish Hamilton stood beside a Ferrari supercar, his overcoat and suit adding to the high-class aura of the moment. It wasn’t just about the photos, though—Hamilton also had a seat fitting and got some time on the simulator, though the weather delayed his first outing at the Fiorano test track.
For a moment, it felt like the F1 world was holding its breath—this was a new chapter in both Hamilton’s career and the history of Scuderia Ferrari, a team that has not had a driver’s title since 2007. Replacing Carlos Sainz, Hamilton will partner with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc as they aim to bring the Prancing Horse back to the top of the sport.
