The Department of Transportation (DoTr) has urged the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) to prioritize security and passenger awareness in 2025.
During the OTS’ New Year’s Call held at the OTS Main Office in Pasay City, Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista stressed the importance of a secure travel environment.
“Security is not merely a precaution. It is the foundation upon which the comfort, safety, and convenience of every traveler rests,” Bautista said.
He stressed the importance of public awareness and effective communication, stating that an informed public can significantly contribute to a security-conscious society.
“The Office for Transportation Security plays a crucial role in this endeavor,” Bautista said.
“Proactive measures, innovative programs, and extensive public outreach are essential to enhance security awareness among both passengers and transportation staff,” he added.
OTS Administrator Undersecretary Crizaldo O. Nieves expressed gratitude for the DoTr’s support in enhancing transportation security and the traveler experience.
During the event, Bautista honored OTS personnel for their dedication and administered the oath of office to newly promoted employees.
