Vermosa, Ayala Land's sixth-largest estate in Imus, Cavite, is launching its "Open Streets" initiative to revitalize weekend activities. Beginning 18 January 2025, and running every weekend through 23 February 2025, major roads in Vermosa will become car-free zones, encouraging cycling, running, and community gatherings.
The program will close sections of Vermosa Boulevard, Champions Loop, and Olympic Drive to vehicular traffic, providing safe spaces for physical activities and social interaction. This initiative aligns with Vermosa’s commitment to fostering a health-conscious, dynamic community.
“We are excited to introduce ‘Open Streets’ to the Vermosa and Cavite community,” said May P. Rodriguez, VP and Senior Project Development Head of Estates Group, Ayala Land, Inc. “This initiative embodies Vermosa and Ayala Land’s commitment to promoting an active lifestyle and strengthening community bonds. By transforming our streets into lively, car-free spaces, we’re not just encouraging physical activity, we’re also creating opportunities for neighbors to connect and families to enjoy quality time together.”
The Vermosa Open Streets program complements existing facilities like the Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub (AVSH) and the soon-to-be-completed Athletics Center Dugout. AVSH is envisioned as a premier training ground for athletes and a venue for national and international sports events, while also being open to the public.
“By making our streets more accessible for exercise and recreation, Vermosa is taking a proactive step toward community wellness,” said Chrissy Roa, Corporate and Estates Marketing and Communications Group Head, Ayala Land, Inc. “Vermosa Open Streets is more than just a weekend activity; it reflects Ayala Land’s vision of creating sustainable, forward-thinking communities.”
In addition to physical activities, Vermosa Open Streets will feature roller skating, painting, pocket fitness classes, group workouts, and food and retail booths. These activities will take place in Vermosa’s green spaces, including landscaped parks and the Vermosa Greenway.
Vermosa Open Streets is expected to draw visitors from neighboring towns, enhancing Vermosa’s appeal as a modern, sustainable community. Its strategic location, close to major roads and recreational establishments like Ayala Malls Vermosa and the De La Salle Santiago Zobel Vermosa Campus, makes it a prime weekend destination.
Vermosa prioritizes safety with key facilities like the Cavite Red Cross, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine National Police, and the Imus Government Center within the estate.
Inspired by Ayala Land’s Car-Free Sundays at Ayala Avenue, Vermosa Open Streets is set to become a key community event. For updates, follow Vermosa and Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub on Facebook and Instagram.
