Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, Vice Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Finance, has been steadfast in his commitment to fostering sustainable development in CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon).
By advocating for more development projects, Go aims to not only enhance connectivity and tourism but also create livelihood opportunities and bolster local economies in the region.
The senator emphasized that infrastructure plays a critical role in economic development, particularly in connecting communities, improving access to markets and ensuring disaster resilience.
Go has consistently supported infrastructure development in Cavite to improve connectivity, bolster economic growth, and enhance public service delivery. His initiatives include road improvements like the Cavite-Batangas Road and Noveleta-Naic-Tagaytay Road, the construction of multi-purpose buildings in Bacoor City and Dasmariñas City, and flood control structures to mitigate disaster risks.
In Laguna, Senator Go has supported various development projects aimed at improving local mobility, enhancing flood resilience and providing essential public services.
Key initiatives include the rehabilitation of major roads like the Paete-Famy-Quezon Boundary Road. Additionally, multi-purpose buildings, drainage systems and street lighting projects in municipalities such as Nagcarlan, Pila and Santa Cruz have strengthened local economies and improved the quality of life for residents.
In Batangas, the senator, whose familial roots are deeply intertwined with the province through the Tesoro side of his family, has been instrumental in advancing infrastructure in the province. His support includes the construction of major access roads, such as the Batangas Access Zone and Batangas City-San Pascual-Bauan Diversion Road, enhancing mobility and economic connectivity. Additionally, multi-purpose buildings and road rehabilitation projects in towns like Lemery, San Jose, and Bauan showcase his commitment to disaster resilience and community development.
Go, also known as Mr. Malasakit, meanwhile, visited recovering fire victims of Pasay City on Friday, 17 January, to provide much-needed assistance and support towards recovery. The outreach was conducted in coordination with Pasay City officials led by Congressman Antonio “Tony” Calixto, Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano, and Vice Mayor Ding Del Rosario.
In collaboration with Senator Go, the National Housing Authority reinforced the support to the victims through its Emergency Housing Assistance Program. This program, which Go championed, provides financial grants to disaster victims to help them rebuild their homes.
