The recently launched Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G combines innovative technology and — okay — thoughtful design, offering a versatile experience in photography, gaming, streaming and everyday use.

What more can anyone on a budget want? Oh, maybe the more premium-looking enclosure of its predecessor, the Note 13 Pro 5G, which TechnoGizmo reviewed last year after its launch in Bangkok, Thailand.

This iteration of the Note Pro 5G is equipped with a 200MP main camera featuring optical image stabilization, an f/1.65 aperture, and a 1/1.4” sensor.

These specifications, which read more like a dedicated camera’s own, allow for detailed and vibrant photography, whether capturing a sunrise or night scenes with AI Night Mode.

The 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro cameras offer additional flexibility for diverse photographic needs. For video, it supports 4K recording and slow-motion options, accommodating creative expression.

The 20MP front camera, complete with the now-ubiquitous AI beautification capability, night mode, and a soft-light ring, delivers sharp and clear selfies in various lighting conditions.

The phone features a 6.67” CrystalRes AMOLED display with a resolution of 2712 x 1220 and a peak brightness of 3000 nits. With a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 480Hz, interactions feel smooth and responsive.

Certified for low blue light and flicker-free viewing, the display offers comfort during extended use. The Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 should enhance durability, while the slim design and lightweight build make the phone easy to carry.

Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra chipset, the device features an octa-core CPU clocking up to 2.5GHz and a Mali-G615 MC2 GPU.

Available configurations include up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB UFS 2.2 storage, providing ample space and speed for multitasking and app use.

The phone performs well for gaming, with the 120Hz refresh rate delivering smooth visuals in titles such as Diablo Immortal and Call of Duty. The test unit did not overheat during drawn-out playing sessions, somehow bolstering a claim of having a superb cooling system.

The 5110mAh battery is designed to support extended use for gaming, streaming, and browsing. When recharging is needed, the 45W turbo charging capability helps quickly restore power, and the in-box charger adds convenience.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G supports dual SIM and eSIM, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 for reliable connectivity. Security features include an in-display fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock for quick and secure access.

With an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, the phone is built to handle a variety of environments. Its MIUI interface offers customization options, such as themes and app layouts, allowing users to personalize their experience. Regular updates ensure the device remains functional and current.
