Authorities are searching for seven individuals who went missing along with their fishing boat in the waters near Calayan Island.
Initial reports indicate that the group, aboard the fishing boat, departed from Claveria town at 4:30 a.m. on 15 January 2025, headed for Dilam, Calayan. However, the boat did not arrive at its intended destination at the expected time.
Cagayan authorities are coordinating with other agencies to confirm that the group consists of five crew members and passengers, including one member of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). They are also working to verify the identities of the missing individuals.
The Cagayan Public Information Office (PIO) reported that the families of the missing persons have confirmed the incident and expressed hope for a swift resolution and safe return of their loved ones.
