Adopt a chill attitude this year.

As we begin the first month of the New Year, it’s is time to refresh our memories. These are reminders of the things that matter most — our health, happiness and peace of mind.
Beyond resolutions and promises to one self to change, upgrade or improve, here is a timeless guideline to remember.
Everyone seeks harmony. But is its pursuit so untenable? Thus, the importance of self-reflection.
Body, mind, spirit — what keep them in sync is our own will to find the middle ground.
The must do’s:
• Eat well.
Enjoy your meal, no matter what diet you follow. Always practice moderation. And add more greens to your diet
• Know when enough is enough.
Your body has inner wisdom. And you can feel when you have had enough. Heed your inner voice. Do not ignore it.
• Exercise — No excuses. You should move your body daily whether it is walking, swimming, dancing, basketball — just keep moving.
• Hydrate — Water is essential to survival. Without it your body will die. So drink eight to 12 glasses of clean water daily. All other beverages do not count as water.
• Sleep — Lost sleep can never be recovered . It is not advisable to skip a good night’s sleep.
• Meditation is vital to mental health.
Find your sanctuary, your quiet space.
• Chill — Adopt a chill attitude this year. Accept the fact that what you cannot change what is out of your hands. Don’t stress over a situation you have no control over.
• Me first — That’s right, you first. Protect your sense of equilibrium. Let no one disturb your sense of peace.
A stable mind is crucial in order to live in a challenging world.
• Setting boundaries — Draw a lines around your personal space. Let no one disturb your privacy.
• Stay connected to yourself. Align with your soul, the indestructible part of who you are.
• Find your purpose.
• Pursue it.
• Pray. Go on that long-awaited pilgrimage.
• Meditate.
• Raise it up. Make each day one that is lifted up to the Spirit. Begin and end your day with God.
• Open it. Release all your frustrations, hurts and disappointments in the past. No more tears this year.
An open heart invites love and unexpected rewards.
• Forgive. A heart is not ready for love if bitterness occupies it. Let it go.
• Laugh. Allow your heart to laugh. This will allow it to heal faster.
• Give. A giving heart is ready not just to share but to receive blessings.
