Saudi Arabia-based overseas Filipino worker (OFW) Jeravyl Banatanto, who sought the help of DAILY TRIBUNE’s digital show Usapang OFW last December over her health concerns, is set to be transferred to Najmt Al Bader Recruitment, the foreign counterpart of her Philippine recruitment agency, on Thursday.
Department of Migrant Workers Undersecretary for Foreign Employment and Welfare Felicitas Bay confirmed the development on Wednesday evening, stating that the recruiter will hand over Banatanto to the Migrant Workers Office the following day.
“They [Najmt Al Bader Recruitment] will turn over [the OFW] to the Migrant Workers Office by tomorrow. She still has one last hearing. After that, her exit can be processed,” Bay said.
The DAILY TRIBUNE previously sought updates from Banatanto’s Philippine recruitment agency, Hannan International Manpower Corporation, located in Multinational Village, Parañaque City.
However, the agency declined to comment, citing the unavailability of authorized personnel last Tuesday, 7 January. Follow-up attempts to reach the agency on Thursday also went unanswered.
Banatanto had earlier accused Hannan of blocking her on a social media platform after her repeated attempts to seek assistance regarding her situation in Saudi Arabia.
Details regarding her flight back to the Philippines are pending as authorities finalize her repatriation.
