While winter is cold, there is a certain charm to it when in South Korea.

Korea Tourism Organization in Manila honorary ambassador Melai Cantiveros-Francisco and family recently visited the “Land of the Morning Calm” for an unforgettable winter experience. The Ma’am Chief: Shakedown in Seoul star participated in a sledding competition at High1 Ski Resort, Korea’s most environmentally friendly ski resort.

“It’s our first time to experience winter in Korea. My kids really wanted to see Korea winter and I am so pleased to show them the beautiful snow. We were also excited in learning how to ski,” Melai said.

For the full winter season escapade, the group jetted off to the Jeongdongjin Railbike, Arte Museum Valley Gangneung, Gangneung Jungang Market, Sky ranch in Pyeongchang, Hallyu filming locations and wellness spots.

The Korean government grants visa-free access to Filipino group tours. This special entry privilege applies to arrivals at Yangyang International Airport in Gangwon Province and Jeju International Airport in Jeju Island.

The Korean Embassy has extended the Simplified South Korean Tourist Visa Program until 31 December 2025. The simplified application allows eligible Metrobank credit cardholders (Travel Platinum Visa, World Mastercard, Platinum Mastercard) to use their credit card statements instead of traditional finance documents.
