LA UNION — Local leaders here have gathered at the Vista La Vita as senatorial aspirant Luis “Manong Chavit” Singson presented his initiatives centered on green energy, economic zones and public accountability.

Singson was accompanied by Representative Richelle Singson, Vice Governor Mario Ortega, and Representative Paolo Ortega as he outlined a bold vision for sustainable development and job creation.

He also pledged significant investments to help local government units (LGUs) transition to renewable energy and eco-friendly technologies.

“I will finance LGUs to shift to electric vehicles,” said Singson — who is Number 58 in the Senate ballot.

He also stressed the need to modernize transportation while reducing the country’s carbon footprint. His plans align with the growing global push for sustainability and energy independence.

Addressing the challenges of unemployment, Singson called for the establishment of economic zones to attract industrialization and foreign investments.

“Economic zones will drive job creation and bring development to underserved areas,” Singson said, adding that his strategy involves fostering public-private partnerships to create hubs of economic activity across the nation.

As part of his economic reforms, Singson introduced VBank, a digital banking platform aimed at empowering local government units.

“With VBank, we can ensure financial inclusion and efficient governance,” Singson said, linking technology to his broader vision of modernization and transparency.

He also reiterated his stance against corruption, firmly opposing pork barrel allocations.

“I am not in favor of pork barrel since it attracts graft and corruption,” said Singson, advocating for stricter fiscal accountability.

The senatorial aspirant also highlighted his experience and commitment to public service.

“I want to spend all the money I earned helping Filipinos,” he said, portraying himself as a leader willing to invest his resources for the country’s progress.

As the 2025 midterm elections draw near, Singson’s focus on green energy and economic reform positions him as a champion of sustainable development, appealing to both grassroots leaders and progressive voters eager for change.
