A murder case was filed against the 23-year-old man on Tuesday for allegedly killing his Filipino-American relatives at a Baldwin Park home in Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office identified the suspect as Kyle Chester De Los Reyes, who faces three counts of murder and an additional allegation of using a deadly weapon.
The victims, 44-year-old Rona Nate, 16-year-old Paul Sebastian Manangan, and eight-year-old Mia Chantelle Narvaez, sustained fatal stab wounds to their upper bodies.
Their bodies were discovered after a 911 call reporting a disturbance was made shortly before seven in the evening on 26 December, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Neighbors reported hearing a young girl screaming for help, claiming her brother had stabbed their mother. Authorities later identified De los Reyes as a family member of the victims, although his exact relationship to them has not been disclosed.
De los Reyes is being held without bail, and his arraignment has been postponed until 15 January 2025.
Investigations are still underway to determine the motive behind the killings.
