At exactly midnight on 1 January 2025, Baby Alea Jayde was born at Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital in Tayuman, Manila, marking the first birth of the year.
Alea Jayde was born to Lea Mae Razo after 13 hours of labor. Razo, 27, is a first-time mother from Bacoor, Cavite. The baby is healthy, weighing 3,882 grams and measuring 42 centimeters.
Alea Jayde is part of Generation Beta, the cohort of children born between 2025 and 2039, who will be the children of younger millennials and older Gen Zs, according to futurist and social researcher Mark McCrindle.
While Generation Alpha is the first to grow up fully immersed in technology, Generation Beta will experience an even more digitally connected world, McCrindle added.
