Dear Atty. Kathy,
Five additional members of K-pop group Golden Child — Daeyeol, Y, Seungmin, Jaehyun, and Donghyun — are departing from Woollim Entertainment as their exclusive contracts come to an end on 31 December 2024.
This announcement follows the earlier exits of TAG, Jibeom, and Bomin in August, leaving Joochan and Jangjun as the only remaining members of the group.
On 27 December, Woollim Entertainment issued a statement addressing the departures, stating that the decision was made after "extensive and thoughtful discussions about their future and the direction of their activities." The agency added, "After much in-depth dialogue, we have mutually agreed to conclude their exclusive contracts."
The statement further expressed gratitude and support to the members, saying, "We kindly ask for your continued love and encouragement for the members of Golden Child as they take their first steps into the future."
Fans have expressed concern about the group's likely disbandment, as well as curiosity about what’s ahead of each members’ individual careers.
Golden Child debuted in 2017 with their mini-album “GOL-CHA!” featuring its title track "DamDaDi," creating a memorable discography and leaving a lasting impact on fans worldwide.
