Actress-comedienne Marietta Subong, popularly known as Pokwang, has revealed that she is now a proud grandmother to a four-year-old grandson, the child of her eldest daughter, Mae Subong.
During her guest appearance on "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda" on Christmas Day, Pokwang shared the good news.
"I am a lola and it’s another blessing," Pokwang revealed to Abunda.
"I have a four-year-old, super, super cute. I am a proud lola (I have a four-year-old, super, super cute [grandchild]. Another blessing in my life, another reason to pray for a longer life so I can watch them grow up. A super cute and intelligent child. I am a proud grandmother)," she added.
According to the comedienne, she openly accepted her daughter Mae when she found out that she was pregnant with her first baby.
As long as you graduate, I’m happy. She followed my advice, even though paying her tuition fees was tough)," she shared.
Kaya nung nalaman ko na she’s pregnant, I was so so happy. Hindi ako nagalit. Hindi ko siya sinumbatan (I told her, 'Just graduate, and I’ll be the happiest mom,' and she did. She graduated, found a job, and never caused me any trouble. So, when I found out she was pregnant, I was so, so happy. I didn’t get angry or scold her)," she recalled.
Aside from her 28-year-old daughter Mae, the comedienne has a six-year-old daughter with her estranged partner Lee O'Brian.
