The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) is set to revitalize its 14.87-hectare golf course, a strategic initiative aimed at boosting leisure tourism and promoting a healthy work-life balance within the Freeport.
AFAB CEO and administrator Hussein Pangandaman announced that the project will not only offer recreational opportunities but also provide venues for social gatherings, corporate events, and wellness activities. This is seen as a step toward further enhancing the Freeport’s standing as a premier destination for both business and leisure.
The golf course, located just 650 meters from the AFAB Administration Building, is strategically positioned near other key commercial facilities, including hotels, office spaces, and a convention center, making it an ideal location for tourists and professionals alike.
Pangandaman highlighted that the golf course redevelopment would serve as an attractive addition to the existing amenities, enhancing the appeal of the Freeport as a well-rounded, all-encompassing location for both work and leisure.
In addition to the golf course’s reopening, AFAB plans to revitalize the Central Business District (CBD) and the Boardwalk to further enhance the area’s economic and social activity.
The vision for the CBD includes the creation of a two-story commercial building and a multi-purpose two-story clubhouse that would serve as a venue for community and corporate events.
The area will also feature pocket stalls for local businesses, a boardwalk area for leisure, and ample parking space with a food hub designed to attract both locals and visitors. Pangandaman noted that the integration of these features will provide a complete, holistic experience for Freeport employees, investors and visitors.
The development aims to foster a modern business environment that embodies the principles of innovation, sustainability and community engagement.
Pangandaman emphasized that the project will combine state-of-the-art architecture with eco-friendly technologies, creating a space that not only meets business needs but also contributes to the overall urban development of the Freeport.
The incorporation of green technologies and smart infrastructure will set a standard for future projects, ensuring the area remains competitive and aligned with global sustainability trends.
Furthermore, the redevelopment of the Freeport’s Central Business District will create new, rentable commercial spaces, providing additional opportunities for businesses to set up shop in the Freeport Area of Bataan.
By attracting new investors and locators, AFAB aims to significantly boost employment opportunities for locals.
Pangandaman stressed that this project would not only diversify the Freeport’s investment portfolio but also create an environment that fosters collaboration, business growth and economic stability.
Overall, these initiatives are seen as a vital step in realizing AFAB’s goal to position the Freeport Area of Bataan as a leading destination for business, tourism and leisure.
The combination of modern commercial spaces, recreational facilities, and sustainable design will cater to the needs of both businesses and residents, providing a balanced environment conducive to both professional success and personal well-being.
By enhancing the Freeport’s infrastructure and offerings, AFAB is poised to attract both local and international investors, contributing to long-term economic growth and development in the region.
