The beloved Karate Kid franchise is making a grand comeback with its newest installment, Karate Kid: Legends, set to hit theaters on 30 May 2025.
This marks the sixth chapter in the iconic series, which first debuted in 1984 with Ralph Macchio, Pat Morita, and William Zabka in starring roles.
Karate Kid: Legends promises a modern twist while honoring its roots, bringing together Ralph Macchio’s Daniel LaRusso and Jackie Chan’s Mr. Han — the respective stars of the original 1984 film and the 2010 remake. Joining them is rising talent Ben Wang, who will portray Li Fong, the new Karate Kid.
The first official trailer, released on 17 December, offers an electrifying glimpse of action-packed training sequences and heartfelt moments. Fans were especially thrilled to see the first meeting between LaRusso and Mr. Han, where Han reveals his connection to Mr. Miyagi, LaRusso’s late mentor, originally played by Pat Morita.
This revelation has fueled fan theories, with some speculating that Han and Miyagi may have trained together.
Meanwhile, others point to a scene from The Karate Kid Part II (1986), where Miyagi recalls an ancestor learning martial arts in China, suggesting a potential familial link between the two legendary figures.
