The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has continued its commitment to helping communities in need through various initiatives.
This comes as the agency recently turned over 1,000 first-aid kits to the Social Amelioration and Genuine Intervention on Poverty (SAGIP) Partylist.
The turnover was held at the agency’s main headquarters in Mandaluyong City and the kits will be distributed to barangay health workers in Palawan to enhance their capacity to provide immediate medical assistance in their communities.
The initiative aligns with the PCSO’s Gender and Development (GAD) program, supporting the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women. By equipping barangay health workers, the PCSO aims to promote gender equality and community resilience.
Previously, PCSO delivered 500 food packs to the Municipality of Baao, Camarines Sur. Mayor Jeffrey Besinio received the food packs, which will be distributed to single-parent families.
This initiative is part of the PCSO’s Corporate Social Responsibility program, demonstrating the agency’s dedication to assisting vulnerable sectors of society.
The agency also donated two patient transport vehicles to the Municipality of Casiguran and the City of Sorsogon. These vehicles will be used to transport patients, especially in areas affected by recent typhoons and floods.
Mayor Ma. Minez Hamor of Casiguran and Mayor Ma. Ester Hamor of Sorsogon expressed gratitude for the timely donation, which will significantly improve healthcare access in their respective localities.
The PCSO’s efforts to provide aid and support to communities in need highlight its role as a compassionate and socially responsible organization. By addressing the needs of vulnerable groups and contributing to disaster relief efforts, the PCSO continues to make a positive impact on Filipino lives.
