Over 3k poll aspirants register socmed

More than 3,900 candidates vying for various positions in the 2025 midterm elections have registered their social media accounts with the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
As of 4 December, a total of 3,904 aspirants, including 24 senatorial bets, 3,775 local candidates, and 105 partylist representatives, have complied with the Comelec’s requirement to register their online campaign platforms.
Of this number, 2,096 candidates submitted hard copies of their registration documents.
The Comelec reminded all political aspirants, parties, and party-list organizations that the deadline for online platform registration is 13 December.
“Seven days to go before the last day to register online campaign platforms,” the poll body said in a social media post on Friday.
Under Comelec Resolution 11064, all candidates, partylist organizations, and political parties participating in the May 2025 elections are obligated to register their official social media accounts, websites, podcasts, blogs, vlogs and other online platforms.
The guidelines also require all applicants to submit hard copies of their online registration documents.
The Comelec’s move to regulate online campaign platforms aims to ensure transparency and accountability in political campaigns, as well as to prevent the spread of disinformation and hate speech.
