Manila Central University (MCU) marked its 120th anniversary with the announcement of six innovative programs designed to uphold its legacy of educational excellence on Wednesday, 4 December.

These programs, set to launch in the next academic year, reflect MCU’s commitment to providing forward-thinking education that prepares students for evolving career landscapes.

The new offerings include Bachelor of Science in Entertainment and Multimedia Studies, Bachelor of Arts in Communication, Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship, Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management, and Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology.

“By offering these courses, we aim to uphold our legacy of excellence in education and create a learning environment that prepares students for real-world challenges,” said MCU President Dr. Renato Tanchoco Jr.

“We believe in designing a learning environment that prepares students for real-world challenges,” he added.

Further underscoring its commitment to quality, MCU recently earned the 9th spot in the AppliedHE Private University Rankings 2025 for Philippine Private Schools. This achievement reflects the university’s focus on equipping its graduates with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in a dynamic global environment.

Small Laude inspires in MCU LIFE Talk Session

With a life inspiring to many and a bright personality that puts smiles on people’s faces, socialite and YouTube vlogger Small Laude stopped vlogging for a day and shared her experiences as a vlogger, especially in modern times.

In a short but meaningful speech, one thing can be learned from Laude’s words – that hard work comes in different forms.

“When I became 50 plus years old, I had just found my career,” she said, reflecting on her personal battles, including a past struggle with depression. She eventually found a way to a brighter path–one in which she finds joy and contentment. 

When Laude began her journey with vlogging, her humble beginnings had almost discouraged her, with her kids expressing their skepticism about her vlogging–only to find out that years later, she would become one of the most influential figures in the social media world.

“When I told my kids, ‘Guys, I’m vlogging na,’ they told me ‘Mom, please don’t do it,” said Laude. 

With the introduction of new programs and thought-provoking sessions like Laude’s LIFE Talk, the university continues to shape its education in an evolving world that will guide the young generation in their professional endeavors.
