Following their recent arrest in Pampanga, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) will deport the wanted Korean swindler and his cohort soon.
BI Commissioner Atty. Joel Anthony Viado identified the two suspects as Park Chang Suk, 41, and Lee Yunwoo, 39, who were arrested last 12 November at the Clark Freeport zone in Angeles City by operatives from the BI Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU).
Atty. Viado stated that the arresting agents were armed with a mission order, which he issued due to the request of the South Korean government, which seeks assistance from the BI to locate and deport Park.
In addition, during the operation, the arresting team discovered and apprehended Lee, an overstaying Korean whom Park identified as the one who harbored him despite the fact that the latter is a fugitive from justice.
“Once our board of commissioners has issued the order for his summary deportation, they will be deported. Both of them will then be placed on our blacklist of undesirable aliens and prohibited from returning to the Philippines,” the BI chief added.
The BI Interpol unit shared that Park is the subject of a blue notice issued by Seoul Interpol after he was charged with fraud by the Suwon district court in Korea.
Park was charged with defrauding his victims into giving him loans totaling 80 million won, or roughly US$57,000, as purported payment for his foreclosed home, and the court issued an arrest warrant against him on 10 May this year.
Meanwhile, BI-FSU operatives also arrested a Chinese woman who is wanted for kidnapping in China.
The female suspect was identified as Yu Yue, 36 years old. She was arrested last 14 November at the San Antonio Plaza Arcade in Makati City. Yu will also be facing deportation for being a wanted fugitive in China.
Authorities say that a warrant of arrest against Yu was reportedly issued by the Public Security Bureau in Jinjiang City, China, on 14 June.
All three aliens are currently detained at the BI Warden Facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City, pending their deportation proceedings.
