PAGASA monitors super typhoon Ofel as NDRRMC orders evacuations across Luzon

On Thursday, PAGASA weather specialist Reynaldo Lirios monitored the track of Super Typhoon Ofel at the main office in Quezon City. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) has alerted disaster units as thousands were evacuated across various provinces of Luzon to brace for the impact of Super Typhoon Ofel (international name: Usagi), which is packing sustained winds of up to 180 kilometers per hour (112 miles per hour) and intense torrential rains.
