Senate President pushes clear mining fiscal regime

WATCH: Senate President Chiz Escudero called for a clearer mining fiscal regime that defines tax shares for LGUs and IPs. During a Senate hearing on 19 August 2024, he urged the faster release of the 40% tax income share to LGUs hosting mining operations and proposed measures to facilitate negotiations with mining firms, aiming to create a stable investment environment and boost employment and revenue.
