

ZAMBOANGA CITY — The Bangsamoro Parliament (BP) has requested the Supreme Court (SC) to facilitate the immediate organization of the Shari’ah High Court in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) as mandated in the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL).
Member of Parliament (MP) Engr. Don Mustapha A. Loong on Friday said that the immediate organization of the Shari’ah High Court in the BARMM will comply with one of the provisions contained in the BOL.
The resolution was adopted during the Parliament’s Session 62 of its third regular session held at the Bangsamoro Government Center in Cotabato City last Wednesday and members of the Committee on Bangsamoro Justice System unanimously affirmed the necessity of organizing the Shari’ah High Court in the Bangsamoro region.
BP Deputy Speaker Nabil Tan asked that all committee members present at the meeting be included as authors of the resolution, which was unanimously approved.
