The celebration of Christmas in Quezon City was generally peaceful and orderly, according to Quezon City Police District Director, P/Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan on Tuesday.
"A total of 1827 personnel from the district headquarters and police stations were deployed in the streets and in places where most people converge such as transportation terminals, markets, malls, other business establishments, and churches. Fortunately, the QCPD did not record any major untoward incident during the Christmas Day celebration," Maranan told the DAILY TRIBUNE.
The QCPD Director recognized the support and efforts of the local government units, church authorities, force multipliers, and other stakeholders who worked hand-in-hand with the QCPD in strengthening and tightening people's vigilance against all forms of criminality especially during the nine-day Simbang Gabi or Dawn Masses and Christmas Eve Mass.
"The entire force of Team QCPD is always prompt in the implementation of its tactical and strategic deployment to ensure public safety throughout the observance of the season. I also reiterate to the people to remain watchful and on full alert to pre-empt illegal activities. Any suspicious persons or activity that may be observed must be reported immediately to proper authorities for appropriate action," Maranan said.
