LAOAG CITY — A man was stabbed dead at around 8:30 p.m. on 17 December.
An investigation disclosed that the victim and some witnesses were drinking inside the premises of NCR General Merchandise at Barangay 59-A Dibua South.
While drinking, a man barged inside shouting that the "suspect" was about to die. After which, the "suspect", who was covered in blood, came after the "victim" holding a kitchen knife and immediately tackled the "victim".
During the commotion, the "suspect" was able to gain the upper hand and was able to subdue the "victim" by sitting on his chest. Then, the "suspect" stabbed the neck of the "victim" and slit his throat. After the commission of the crime, the "suspect" sat on the side of the entrance of NCR General Merchandise.
The "victim" was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
DAILY TRIBUNE tried to ask for the names of the suspect and the victim but the Philippine National Police in Laoag City withheld the information pending investigation.
