American billionaire Kenneth "Ken" Griffin, founder and chief executive of hedge fund Citadel LLC, doesn't like the idea of remote working as it can harm corporate culture.  Citadel has more than $62 billion in assets and properties under management as of December 2022.

In a Bloomberg interview, he said, "What worries me in a hybrid work environment or work-from-home environment, the cultural or social contract that holds people together in a company is unquestionably weaker."

His comment comes as major US firms push employees to return to the office. Both Meta and Amazon, for instance, require employees to go to the office at least thrice a week or risk losing their jobs.

Despite this call, many companies still prefer to adopt a hybrid setup to cut down on office space, and thus, rental costs.

Workplace strategy firm Robin Powered surveyed more than 500 business owners across the US. It found that 75 percent are planning to reduce their office square footage in the next year.
