Do you want to have healthy, glowing skin for the holidays? A real mochi-mochi crystal bright skin that can boost your confidence?
The key to mochi skin is, of course, hydration.
This is according to dermatologist Beatrice Maxine Chan who points out that it's always best to prep your skin for proper hydration especially during the cold season wherein most skin tends to get dry, dull and itchy.
"A good skincare routine paired with the right product is essential for a youthful, holiday glow," says Chan of Versoza Aesthetic Clinic.
A mochi skin is often described as soft, plump, bouncy and free of lines or dryness — much like a baby skin.
A new J-beauty (or Japanese beauty) line of hydrating and moisturizing products was recently launched in the market claiming to achieve inner glowing mochi-mochi crystal bright skin.
Japanese brand Hada Labo introduces two new moisturizers
— Premium Whitening Water Cream and Premium Whitening Water Gel — that both contain brightening ingredients niacinamide, alpha-arbutin and vitamin C that work together to reawaken dull skin, fight dark spots and even out skin tone.
"Hada Labo is Japan's number one skincare brand for its hydrating face lotion," says Jenny Arcellana, marketing head of Cambert (Pilipinas) Inc., which handles the distribution of Hada Labo products in the Philippines. "In fact, a bottle of Hada Labo facial lotion is sold every five seconds.
Since it was established in 2004, Hada Labo has been in the top three most popular skincare in Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia."
She adds: "The bestselling face lotion is infused with five types of hyaluronic acid. This is why we are launching the full sizes of Hada Labo Premium Whitening Moisturizers here in the country to help Filipino users achieve that fresh and radiant glow that you can get only with a well-moisturized complexion. These moisturizers work hand-in-hand with our face lotions to boost their benefits and reveal the glowing skin they deserve."
"Hada" is Japanese for skin, "Labo" stands for laboratory. Hada Labo means skin lab.
Each of Hada Labo's newly launched moisturizer is formulated to address specific skin needs.
"The Premium Whitening Water Gel has a refreshing ultra lightweight water gel texture that's instantly absorbed into the skin, a suitable choice for those with normal to oily skin," explains Arcellana.
"Premium Whitening Water Cream gives that silky soft water cream texture that deeply hydrates skin, making it a great option for all skin types."
Chan stresses that moisturizers play an important role in achieving skincare goals as they lock moisture into the skin.
"When we say dry skin, we refer to dull, ugly fine lines or wrinkles that can actually make you look older than your actual age.
The extra layer of moisture enhances the skin's natural barrier function against external elements like pollutants and irritants.
It also minimizes the risk of water loss, keeping your skin from suffering any dryness or irritation, which is common over the holiday season when the weather is a bit cooler than usual," Chan shares.
The skin expert also suggests going for multifunctional moisturizers with skin-friendly and brightening active ingredients like niacinamide, alpha-arbutin and vitamin C.
"Niacinamide enhances skin tone and barrier, alpha-arbutin brightens and reduces discoloration and, finally, vitamin C can illuminate dark spots by inhibiting tyrosinase, an enzyme responsible for skin discoloration.
Having at least one of these ingredients in your routine can help you achieve a healthy-looking complexion over time," Chan adds.
For best results, Arcellana says to use Premium Whitening Moisturizers after applying a face lotion. Gently massage the product into the face and pat to boost absorption.
"So, the next time you think about your skincare routine, remember that true skin care involves both hydrating and moisturizing for the best results. A healthy skin is a hydrated skin," concludes Chan.
Hada Labo Premium Whitening Moisturizers are now available at Watsons stores nationwide and online through the Watsons Online Store and the official Mentholatum stores on Lazada and Shopee.
