President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the 70th anniversary of the celebration of the Federation of Free Farmers (FFF) on Wednesday, 25 October 2023, at the Salvador Escudero Hall, 4/F NMIS Building, National Meat Inspection Service, Visayas Avenue, Quezon City.
The President is joined by (from left to right) SAP Anton Lagdameo, DAR Sec. Conrado M. Estrella III, FFF Chairman Leonardo Q. Montemayor, and NMIS Exec. Dir. Clarita M. Sangcal.
In his speech, the President expressed gratitude for the organization's cooperation with the government and their dedicated service to farmers and local communities.
He acknowledged the enduring presence of the FFF over seven decades and looked forward to deeper collaboration.
President Marcos encouraged FFF members to continue supporting and empowering farmers and fisherfolk and highlighted the need to revamp the long-neglected agricultural system.
He stressed that improving the livelihood of farmers and fisherfolk was a significant task that required the government and FFF's joint efforts, emphasizing the goal of achieving a food- and nutrition-secure Philippines.
