Police believe the crime was a robbery that turned deadly.
Anti-drug operatives seized a total of P2.04 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Taguig last Sunday.
The operation was carried out by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency on Xyris Street corner Adelfa Street in Barangay Pembo, Taguig.
Pembo was one of the 10 enlisted men's barrio transferred from Makati to Taguig through a Supreme Court decision but the Makati police still have jurisdiction over the barangay.
Before the buy-bust operation, the Makati police received a phone call about an incident of indiscriminate firing in Barangay Pembo.
Elements of the Comembo police substation went to the area and based on inquiry, a male suspect fired his handgun when he realized that law enforcement operatives were present.
The subject of the buy-bust operation immediately fled from the scene and the armed personnel confirmed themselves as PDEA operatives.
The responding police officers collaborated with PDEA agents to initiate an immediate follow-up operation to go after the four suspects. However, the suspects managed to escape.
An alias Queendy, one of the four suspects, left behind her driver's license, which was discovered inside a vehicle that was abandoned during the escape.
