Grab enrolls partner drivers in SSS, Pag-IBIG

As part of its social protection program, Grab Philippines has partnered with state-run agencies Social Security System or SSS and Pag-IBIG Fund to register more partner drivers for easier access to government-mandated benefits.

CJ Lacsican, Head of Central Operations for Grab, said on Monday that the program was part of the recently held Family Wellness Fair attended by over 1,000 driver-partners and family members.

Lacsican reiterated that the program served as an avenue for driver-partners to acquaint themselves with the available programs and services intended to help them create a stronger safety net for themselves and their families.

Pag-IBIG Fund Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Member Services Alexander Hilario G. Aguilar, for his part, said thousands of Grab drivers were registered and will now have secured savings and access to home loan programs.

"We expect this to further rise in the coming months as we continue to strengthen our partnership," Aguilar added.

Relatedly, Grab also spearheaded workshops and talks on critical health topics such as wellness and healthy diet, preventing non-communicable diseases, cervical cancer awareness and safety training from the Red Cross.

"We continue to recognize the hard work and dedication of our driver-partners as they ply busy thoroughfares daily just to ensure a better future for their families," Lacsican said.

Locally, Grab has committed to helping the government generate 500,000 livelihood opportunities for Filipinos in the coming years.

To complement the effort, Grab has called on industry regulators to maintain a steady increase in the transport network vehicle service, or TNVS slots, to address the gap between supply and demand.
