THE most famous one-make race returns as the Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Cup 2023 Season starts 1 July.

THE most famous one-make race returns as the Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Cup 2023 Season starts 1 July.

Toyota Motor Philippines is extending its long-standing commitment to nurturing motorsports in the Philippines, courtesy of its leading Toyota Gazoo Racing initiatives. Aimed at fostering local racing talents and providing an adrenaline-charged experience for racing enthusiasts, TMP is set to launch a new motorsports season featuring two key events: the TGR Vios Cup and the TGR Gran Turismo Cup Philippines.

The 2023 season of the TGR Vios Cup, TMP's exclusive one-make-race series, is gearing up to be an exhilarating spectacle. This year's series introduces a fresh race format, as well as a surprise twist that's sure to excite Toyota devotees. Besides, the much-anticipated championship will be teeming with gripping races, engaging activities, and new highlights that will undoubtedly thrill racing fans.

The TGR Vios Cup, in its ninth season, will commence on 1 July at the Clark International Speedway. There will be three legs to this year's competition, with the first round promising to set a fierce pace. Spectators can attend free of charge, and the event will kick off at 9 a.m. For those who cannot make it to the venue, the races will be streamed live on the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines Facebook page.

The event features a mix of seasoned and emerging racers competing in the Super Sporting, Sporting, and Promotional classes of the Circuit Championship. Celebrity and media personalities will also be showcasing their driving skills in the Autocross Challenge.

Since its inception in 2014, the TGR Vios Cup has strived to bring the exhilaration of racing to the Filipino public. It encourages local professional and amateur teams to compete using the popular Toyota Vios sedan in its one-make-race form.

In another effort to enable Filipinos to chase their racing dreams, TMP offers racing classes via the TGR Academy. In May, aspirant racers had the chance to learn the fundamentals of racing from Vios Cup veterans while driving the OMR Vios at the Clark International Speedway.

In the digital realm, the TGR GT Cup Philippines returns for another season, bigger and better than before. This championship invites e-motorsports competitors from across the nation to battle it out for the title of the Philippines' fastest e-racer. After three qualifying rounds, the cream of the crop will go head-to-head in a live national final at a public venue in Manila.

The winners of the 2023 season won't stop there. They will be given the opportunity to represent the Philippines in the TGR GT Cup Asia Regional Finals, facing off against top e-racers from other Asian countries. Additionally, they will be invited to compete in the subsequent season of the TGR Vios Cup, allowing them to further hone their racing skills on real tracks.

The TGR GT Cup Philippines is open to all Filipinos with a Sony PlayStation 4 or 5, an active PSN Account, and PS PLUS Subscription. Registration for the 2023 season is free and can be done through toyota.com.ph/gtcup. The first local round will be broadcast live on the Toyota GazooA Racing Philippines Facebook page on 23 June.
