ECHO is the second Philippine representative to advance in the semifinals of MSC 2023 following a win over Malaysia's Todak earlier today at Aeon Mall Mean Chey in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The M4 world champion and MPL PH Season 11 champion conceded just one game in the best-of-five series, scoring a 3-1 victory that sent Todak crashing out of the tournament.
"We were confident that we are going to win today," said ECHO team captain and roamer Yawi.
ECHO's experienced laner Sanford, meanwhile, owned up to making a crucial error in Game 2 that led Todak to a win. After a quick huddle, the team went back to business to cop the series.
"We talked about our mistakes and adjusted our draft. We were calm in games 3 and 4," Sanford said.
Now guaranteed at least a top 3 to 4 finish, ECHO will meet Indonesian powerhouse ONIC Esports tomorrow, 17 June at 4:00 p.m.
