The eagerly awaited Big Bad Wolf Book Sale is returning to Manila after three years of being online because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Readers and book lovers can troop to the PICC Forum Tent in Pasay from 23 June to 3 July (10 a.m. to 1 a.m.), to take part in an "unbelievable book sale," which will include a massive selection of over two million books from various publishers and authors and in different genres. Entrance to the event is free. Visitors only need to scan the QR code to register for a free membership before participating in the sale.
Unlike in previous runs held at the World Trade Center Manila, this year's Big Bad Wolf Book Sale will take place somewhere new — the 4,800-square meter Philippine International Convention Center or PICC Forum Tent.
"We are thrilled to be returning to the Philippines after three years," Jacqueline Ng, one of the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale's co-founders, said.
She credited their comeback to the Filipino community's strong commitment to books and unwavering support.
The PICC Forum Tent will be divided into three sections. Every visitor will be able to find something intriguing because of the extensive selection of fiction, non-fiction and children's books.
Ng promised a better shopping experience with improved displays and signage, in addition to the amount of titles to be offered.
The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale also presents a chance to support local authors and independent publishers. Carolyn Chuaying, Big Bad Wolf's Philippine partner, guarantees that their books are prominently displayed at the market.
To make browsing and buying even more enticing, Big Bad Wolf has partnered with Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co. or Metrobank, the second largest private bank in the country. Metrobank cardholders can expect special offers and discounts during the event. Some of the perks include zero-percent installment plans for a minimum purchase of P3,000, dedicated payment lanes for Metrobank cardholders, and the possibility of up to 10 percent cashback on purchases of P5,000. Qualified cardholders will also receive exclusive access to the Metrobank VIP Lounge, which offers a relaxing area to unwind and read their recently purchased books.
