Slater Young issues apology

After headlining due to his remarks on fantasizing over other women while being in a relationship being normal, Slater Young was quick to issue an apology and explanation for the incident.

During a recent episode of their podcast, Skypodcast, the celebrity couple received a letter from a girl sharing her frustrations about his boyfriend fantasizing about other women and her feeling that she'll never be good enough for him.

Young and his wife, Kryz Uy, shared their insights regarding the matter with the former saying that the guy was just being honest with how he felt.

As he further explained, the podcaster said that men having conversations about other women are actually normal.

"'Yung mga groups na nagse-send ng mga photos of girls and like fantasizing over it, it's normal," he stated.

"S'yempre ikaw, as part of that group, sakyan mo lang. Wala naman, hindi mo naman gusto talaga.", he then added.

For her part, Uy supported her husband's opinion and also advised the letter sender to stop worrying and instead, use her energy, time, and effort to make herself more attractive.

The couple's remarks made a negative impact on the fans leading to criticisms and some accusing Young of discrimination against women.

The Pinoy Big Brother Unlimited big winner quickly apologized for what he said admitting he felt ashamed and accepted the criticisms thrown on his way.

He remarked, "I finally realized: 'Oh my god, yeah, I really made a mistake because I'm giving it power to say it's okay. And me saying it's normal kind of normalizes it and makes it okay – which the last thing in my mind and my heart would be – to objectify women."

"…I think yun talaga yung pinaka malaki kong learning. A big eye opener for me. I truly, truly do apolgize in my hearts of heart hindi talaga ako pro-objectifying women but yun yung mga words na sinabi ko, yun yung effect na nagawa ko sa mga sinabi ko. It's a learning experience for me, especially given the platform that we have.", he also added.

Prior to the sexist remark incident, Young was famous for being an ideal husband.
