University of Perpetual Help System Dalta has retired the no. 6 National Collegiate Athletic Association jersey of Barangay Ginebra stalwart Scottie Thompson at its campus gym in Las Piñas City on Thursday, 16 February.
The reigning Philippine Basketball Association MVP played for the Altas from 2011 to 2015 and led the team to three Final Four appearances from Season 88 to 90.
He was also awarded the NCAA Most Improved Player in 2012 and hailed as the Most Valuable Player in 2014 to go with his three Mythical Team appearances (2012, 2014, and 2015).
Thompson was joined by his wife Jinky Serrano during the ceremony.
Picked fifth overall by Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, Thompson flourished as one of the best guards in the league, winning seven PBA championships, four-time PBA All-Star, two-time PBA Finals Most Valuable Player, PBA Most Valuable Player, PBA Most Improved Player, PBA Mythical Team and PBA Second Team.
The 29-year-old guard is also one of the prime candidates for this season's PBA MVP award along with San Miguel Beer's June Mar Fajardo.
