DSWD lauds RCBC for digital aid disbursement
The agency also endorsed RCBC DiskarTech as among the digital channels to further promote efficiency, speed, and transparency.
Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation — through its financial inclusion superapp RCBC DiskarTech — joined the Department of Social Welfare and Development in celebrating the department's program gains and partnership success during the 2022 Partnership Festival at the DSWD Central Office Auditorium in Quezon City.
During the event, DSWD and RCBC formalized the partnership through a ceremonial signing of Memorandum of Understanding.
On 2 December 2022, DSWD gave recognition to its partner agencies and companies including RCBC in the undertaking of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program.
The partnership was sealed during the Memorandum of Agreement and Understanding signing among RCBC, Save the Children Philippines, East West Seed Foundation Inc.
The event was attended by DSWD Undersecretary Jerico Javier, and Director Gemma Gabuya, as well as partners DoLE Undersecretary Benjo Benavidez, DILG Undersecretary Rolando Puno, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte and RCBC VP-head of Usage and Strategic Businesses Michael Cruz.
The award-winning bank fast-tracked the distribution of assistance to Filipino families through its trailblazing digital solutions like the first Taglish-Cebuano financial mobile app RCBC DiskarTech, and the first kapitbahay automated teller machine RCBC ATM Go, and the recently launched RCBC Moneybela Barangayan Banking "phygital" (physical-digital) blended banking experience in hard-to-reach areas.
DSWD expressed its gratitude to RCBC for its commitment to continue supporting its initiatives such as the 4Ps Program Graduates as well as the use of RCBC's ATM Go in selected areas nationwide with a goal to not only accelerate distribution, but ultimately onboard the unbanked and underserved sectors of the country.
The agency also endorsed RCBC DiskarTech as among the digital channels to further promote efficiency, speed and transparency. Since the pandemic, RCBC is one of the many partners of the department that have served over seven million households to disburse more than P25 billion.
"As we embrace a post-pandemic new normal, we congratulate the DSWD for bringing us all together for one common goal. Together, we are working towards a noble financial objective at such a massive scale. We are enthusiastic that we continue to be one of DSWD's most reliable partners. We continue our commitment to serving our country and our fellow Filipinos in ensuring that the best financial products and services are aligned with their goals and aspirations," said RCBC executive vice president and Chief Innovation and Inclusion officer Lito Villanueva.
