The Philippine peso on Wednesday, 21 December, appreciated against the US dollar after ending the day at P55.1 against the US dollar from its P55.24 close a day ago.

It opened the day at P55.1, stronger than its P55.4 start in the previous session.

The local currency traded between P55.29 and P55.04, resulting in an average of P55.171.

Volume reached $833.7 million, lower than the previous day's $940.55 million.
