Wonder Woman's fate is in peril.
This comes after several reports indicate that DC Studios decided to not continue the heroine's story.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, sources close to Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins said James Gunn and Peter Safran, who are on board as co-CEOs of the former DC Films, do not share the same vision for the film.
Warner Bros. have yet to comment on the matter.
However, Gunn addressed the situation via Twitter saying, "Some of it is true, some of it is half-true, some of it is not true, and some of it we haven't decided yet whether it's true or not. Building the next ten years of story takes time and we're still just beginning.
"We know we are not going to make every single person happy every step of the way, but we can promise everything we do is done in the service of the story and in the service of the DC characters we know you cherish and we have cherished our whole lives."
Wonder Woman debuted in 2016 in Batman vs. Superman. This was followed by her appearance in Justice League (2017) as well as two stand-alones films that premiered in 2017 and 2020.
Gal Gadot paid tribute to her character on Instagram post. The caption read: "On this day, a few years ago, was the first announcement that I was going to play Wonder Woman. I've been so grateful for the opportunity to play such an incredible, iconic character and more than anything I'm grateful for YOU. The fans. The most amazing, warm, loving fans in the world. I'm still pinching myself to see if I will wake up. Can't wait to share her next chapter with you."
