Four candidates will vie for the vacant congressional seat in the 7th District of Cavite, the Commission on Elections announced on Wednesday.
Crispin Diego Remulla, Cavite provincial board member and son of former Cavite 7th District Representative and Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin "Boying" Remulla, will be running under the National Unity Party.
The other candidates, all independent, include Jose Angelito Aguinaldo, Trece Martires City Mayor Melencio de Saguin Jr., and Michael Angelo Santos.
According to the Comelec, the automated special election in Cavite will be held on 25 February next year. As such, voter registration within Cavite's 7th District is suspended until 24 February.
