Sen. Bong Go personally inspected the Super Health Center in Barangay Inagawan, Puerto Princesa City in Palawan on Saturday, 19 November.

Highlighting several of his health initiatives, such as the establishment of Super Health Centers and Malasakit Centers throughout the country, Go reiterated his determination and commitment to improve access to public health services and medical facilities especially in the grassroots.

"The more we should invest sa healthcare system dahil hindi natin alam kung ito lang ang pandemyang darating sa buhay natin. (Suportado ko) 'yung mga specialty hospitals (sa probinsya) para hindi na kailangan pang bumiyahe ang mga kababayan natin sa Maynila. The more na maging proactive tayo sa ating healthcare system dahil mas mabuti na ang handa," reaffirmed Go in an ambush interview after the event.

Continuing his message, Go cited that the government has allotted nearly PhP3.6 billion for the construction of 307 Super Health Centers nationwide this year.

"Sa ngayon po, 307 na Super Health Center ang ilalagay sa buong Pilipinas (sa) 2022, and hopefully next year (madagdagan pa)… pero importante, tuluy-tuloy sa mga strategic areas," said Go.

After the inspection, the senator, an adopted son of Puerto Princesa City, likewise personally led a relief operation for 2,000 struggling residents at the Puerto Princesa City Coliseum. He and his team handed out grocery packs, masks, vitamins, shirts, umbrellas and meals.

In addition, Go gave away cellular phones and watches to select beneficiaries while others received shoes, bicycles, and balls for volleyball and basketball as part of Go's advocacy to promote grassroots sports development.

Meanwhile, the Department of Social Welfare and Development extended financial assistance through its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program.
