A fireworks storeroom exploded in a residential area Sta. Maria, Bulacan on Thursday, leaving at least 10 people injured, including the storeroom owner.
Authorities said the incident transpired at around noon in Sitio Manggahan in Barangay Pulong Buhangin.
The fire from the storeroom also reached several houses surrounding it. It took firefighters an hour to put the fire out.
The unidentified 58-year-old owner of the storeroom and three of his employees suffered second-degree burns following the fire, according to an initial report.
Local authorities have yet to determine whether the firework manufacturer had a license to operate. An investigation is ongoing to identify the cause of the explosion.
