Kyt Jimenez made history as he tallied a very rare quadruple-double when he led Sarangani past Mindoro, 125-74, in the OKBet-Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League 4th Season late Monday at the Paco Arena.

The 5-foot-11 Jimenez, a YouTube sensation who always draws big crowds wherever he plays, pumped in 33 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists and 11 steals in more than 31 minutes of action to become only the second player to register such an impressive feat.

The first to post a quadruple double was Donbel Belano, who fired 17 points, 11 assists, 11 rebounds and 10 steals for the Davao Eagles in the defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association in 1999.

The feat was very hard to achieve that nobody in the Philippine Basketball Association – not even its imports – had made it since its inception in 1975.

In the National Basketball Association, the best professional league in the world, only four players had done it in Nate Thurmond in 1974, Alvin Robertson in 1986, Hakeem Olajuwon in 1990, and David Robinson in 1994.

"I just wanted to please the fans and enjoy the game," said Jimenez, who used to play for the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta in the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

Jimenez, who received offers from at least three PBA teams and two foreign clubs, stressed that he wants to play at the highest possible level.

Prior to Jimenez's golden feat, Quezon City displayed its readiness for the playoffs as it booked a 113-92 win over Laguna.

Going full throttle up to the final buzzer, Quezon City posted its biggest spread at the buzzer to end the eliminations with a 9-11 win-loss record to clinch the seventh spot in the North Division.

Marlon Monte, Jerick Nacpil and Levi Dela Cruz provided the spark, firing 23, 22 and 19 points, respectively, for Quezon City, which drew 64 points from its bench players.

Quezon City will be pitted against No. 2 qualifier Pasig in the quarterfinals on 18 October at the Ynares Sports Center in Pasig City.

Patrick Anonuevo fired 23 points while Paolo Pontejos chipped in 21 for Laguna, which finished its campaign with a 3-18 card.
