Production has commenced on the fourth season of the Emmy-winning HBO Original drama series Succession in New York City.
Created by Jesse Armstrong, the series explores themes of power and family dynamics through the eyes of patriarch Logan Roy (Brian Cox) and his four grown children, Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Siobhan (Sarah Snook), Roman (Kieran Culkin), and Connor (Alan Ruck). All three seasons are available to stream on HBO Go.
In Season 4, the sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to tech visionary Lukas Matsson moves ever closer. The prospect of this seismic sale provokes existential angst and familial division among the Roys as they anticipate what their lives will look like once the deal is completed. A power struggle ensues as the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely curtailed.
The fresh season retains its original cast members Juliana Canfield (Jess Jordan), Hope Davis (Sandi Furness), Annabelle Dexter-Jones (Naomi Pierce), Dagmara Dominczyk (Karolina Novotney), Justin Kirk (Jeryd Mencken), Arian Moayed (Stewy Hosseini), Stephen Root (Ron Petkus), and Alexander Skarsgård (Lukas Mattson).
Other returning actors are Brian Cox (Logan Roy), Jeremy Strong (Kendall Roy), Sarah Snook (Shiv [Siobhan] Roy), Kieran Culkin (Roman Roy), Alan Ruck (Connor Roy), Matthew Macfadyen (Tom Wambsgans), Nicholas Braun (Greg Hirsch), J. Smith-Cameron (Gerri Kellman), Peter Friedman (Frank Vernon), David Rasche (Karl Muller), Fisher Stevens (Hugo Baker), Hiam Abbass (Marcia Roy), Justine Lupe (Willa Ferreyra), Scott Nicholson (Colin), Zoë Winters (Kerry), Jeannie Berlin (Cyd Peach).
The first two seasons of the series have garnered 23 Emmy nominations and nine wins, with seven Emmys, including Outstanding Drama Series, for the second season. Season three, which premiered last October, has led guild awards including the Writers Guild of America, Directors Guild of America, and Producers Guild of America, and the Screen Actors Guild Award for drama ensemble. Season three landed 25 nominations for this year's Emmy Awards, the biggest haul of any show.
