Barangay Ginebra wrapped up its best-of-five semifinals showdown with NorthPort Friday night with a masterful 120-107 Game 4 victory at the Smart Araneta Coliseum to advance to the PBA Governors’ Cup finals.
Import Justin Brownlee led the Gin Kings with 36 points, 19 rebounds and eight assists to close out their semis battle with the Batang Pier, 3-1.
Japeth Aguilar was also at his best, finishing with 20 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, while LA Tenorio capped the night with 19 points and six assists.
Not to be outdone, Stanley Pringle also had a field day on the court, contributing 18 points, six rebounds and four assists for the Gin Kings’ third straight victory since losing to the Batang Pier in Game 1.
“It’s good to be back in the finals for us. It’s been a while for us,” said Barangay Ginebra head coach Tim Cone.
