Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Tuesday met with the city’s former mayor Alfredo Lim in a small luncheon and feted the former local chief executive for his efforts to bring back Manila’s old glory.

Domagoso also extended his greetings to Lim – who will be celebrating his 90th birthday on 21 December – as he vowed to work hand-in-hand with the former mayor for a better Manila and each of them had good words for each other.

Lim, on the other hand, thanked Domagoso for the gesture and wished him well, as he praised the latter for doing a very good job as mayor of Manila and the many accomplishments he had in just a short period of time.

The former mayor also said he trusts that Domagoso would truly care for his constituents and its poorest of the poor, since he is a genuine resident of Manila and is also a product of poverty just like him.

The city mayor had been consistently acknowledging Lim’s legacies in his speeches, even naming the Siojo Dialysis Center at the Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center after Flora Valisno-Siojo, the beloved grandmother of Lim who raised him.

Lim, meantime, commended Domagoso for his dedication and literally working day and night just to make Manila a better city than it was six years ago
