These US senators certainly haven’t asked for any piece of evidence from the court or from the prosecutors for them to virtually declare her innocence.

No really, Leila de Lima really has gone bonkers, as the detained senator, last heard from, claimed that the approval of a resolution by the United States (US) Senate committee calling on the Philippine government to drop charges against her is “further proof of the fakeness of the charges.”

“If there is still a shred of doubt left on my innocence and a politically persecuted victim on account of my duty in serving the country in over 10 years, has all been erased, since it is so clear that the US Senate resolution is a strong and solid support (for me),” De Lima claimed.

She stressed that “the unanimous support of all the 21 bipartisan members of the US Foreign Relations Committee puts the final nail on the coffin of the blatant lie that Duterte had uttered and shared with certain Philippine senators during a dinner in 2017 claiming that the intel reports about my alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade came from the US.”

Quick! The detained senator is in dire need of a psychiatrist to get her head — of whatever is left of it — together. After all, a sane person certainly knows that US senators armed with a resolution in favor of a Philippine senator is not the panel or person to judge on the guilt or innocence of a person who is moreover not a US citizen!

Hell, even in the US, which claims to be the best democracy in the world (certainly questionable under President Donald Trump), it is the courts based on evidence that make a judgment over the guilt or innocence of the person involved.

Just what evidence did the US senators, who, along with their pet doggie, otherwise known in Tagalog as “tuta” Leila, have to pass judgment over her claimed innocence in the drug trading business, where she stands accused of receiving from the Bilibid prison tens — even hundreds — of millions for her campaign and of course for herself?

These US senators certainly haven’t asked for any piece of evidence from the court or from the prosecutors for them to virtually declare her innocence. Perhaps all that has been proved is that the US Senate panel has been so easily duped by Leila’s false portrayal of herself as a political martyr.

It is Leila of course who has been and is still providing the names of those whom she wants punished for filing drug cases against her, and for tapping her former drug cohorts to testify against her.

Even her choice of officer-in-charge, Rafael Ragos, who was also her drug money delivery boy, has testified against her, just as other non-prisoners also testified against her, all pointing their finger at her and her involvement in the drug trade.

And just what proof does the “bonkered” Leila have against those who filed cases and testified against her? For one, she blames former Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre for filing a drug case against her. The courts? But the judges are just doing their job, just as the police are doing the same.

And wasn’t Leila doing even worse during her stint as Justice secretary of her yellow patron, filing trumped-up charges against the political foes of her yellow president and ensuring that they, detained opposition senators, were refused from doing their work as senators. Yet Leila has the nerve to portray herself as a politically persecuted prisoner when she and the vindictive then President Noynoy Aquino politically persecuted the opposition senators, not even allowing them to issue any press releases and even banning them from talking to the media!

Leila should really get her head fixed and quickly as she is now in a deep delusionary state of mind for her to believe that a US Senate resolution (which really hardly means anything, whether it comes from the Philippine Senate or the US Senate) is the ultimate judge of her guilt or innocence — certainly not a panel of US senators!

It was of course Leila who had provided the US senators, who still think we are a colony of the US, the names of the Filipino officials whom the vindictive senator wants banned from entering the US and have whatever property they have in the US expropriated — all of whom she wants punished by the US for doing their job.

And Leila, the delusionary little brown American, who has no chance of getting reelected in 2022, thinks that a US foreign affairs panel resolution that seeks presidential sanctions on those linked with her case is so important a piece of paper which to her is her badge of innocence.

Truly, her delusionary state can be alarming to a psychiatrist.
